Whilst, at Claric, we do not offer litigation services, we are often asked for advice on the content of existing contracts due to a dispute between the parties. Sometimes the dispute is over a relatively low monetary value, so it is not going to be cost-effective to have lawyers spend hours providing advice and court representation. It might not take long for a low value claim to be eaten up in lawyers’ fees!
Online claims for money
For smaller amounts (up to a £100,000), you can submit a claim online and you do not necessarily need a lawyer. There is, of course, a court fee but it is relatively palatable if the claim is for less than £10,000. Above £10,000, the court fee is a percentage of the claim.
